my new favorite place.
today i decided to finally head to ori (one subway stop away from me) and find the homeplus store that everyone had told me about. it’s basically like walmart, but in korea. i wasn’t exactly sure where it was, so i got off the subway and just walked all over. (i now know where most of the restaurants in ori are… including pizza hut. yum.) after about 15 minutes of walking in the sweltering heat, and not seeing the store anywhere, i decided to swallow my pride and call one of my friends to find out where it actually was. his directions: “i can’t remember which subway exit it’s closest to… so, you’ll have to just walk about 100 meters in every direction from the corner. it’s a big castle-like building with huge cement teddy bears all over it.” he wasn’t lying. the building is hilarious. and i bought a rug, a pillow, a towel, hairspray, eyeliner, and some tupperware all for around $35. success.
(note: i love thinking about how 2 weeks ago i was afraid to go to the grocery store right across the street from my apartment. this place is definitely becoming my home.)
